At Performance Tire & Auto Service, we genuinely like to answer your questions! We figure it's our job to keep you informed on what's happening with your vehicle, its maintenance, warranties and a host of other issues. So, here we've compiled a list of questions that we hear most frequently. By all means, if you don't find the answer here, just ask and we'll answer you personally.

Q. Gas is so expensive, any ideas on how to save?
A. Underinflated tires, Dirty air filter, worn spark plugs, Dirty oil, loose gas cap, and worn O2 sensors are all guilty of costing you valuable mpg if not addressed. Bridgestone also now offers Fuel Efficient tires.

Q. Can I Schedule an Appointment Online?
A. Yes, just drop us an e-mail, and Please leave a phone number where you can be reached. You will receive a confirmation on all e-mails.... Please wait for confirmation before arriving for an appointment. Most requests will be answered within 24 hours.

Q. What are Performance's hours of operation?
A. Convenient evening hours! Monday & Thursday 7:30 am to 7 pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Convenient Saturday hours! Saturday 7 am to 2 pm Remember, we have in-town courtesy shuttle! You can leave your car with us and be on your way!

Q. How often should I have my oil changed?
A. We recommend a maintenance check every 3 months or 3,000 miles and a Lube, Oil, and Filter charge as recommended by your vehicle manufacturer. Included with your oil change is a courtesy check:

  • tires
  • wiper blades
  • lights
  • air filter
  • Battery
  • fluid levels
  • belts
  • hoses
  • battery cables

Q. My Car failed Emissions, Can you repair it?
A. Yes, we are a State of Wisconsin approved repair facility for Emissions Repair.

Q. Do you Perform State of Wisconsin Emission Testing?
A. No, Burlington has 6 facilities certified to test for emissions. Lynch Chevrolet, Lois Tire Shop, Merten's, American Muffler, and Accelerated Auto.

Q. What services do you Recommend for Winter?
A. Prepare for Winter by:

  • Change Oil and Filter
  • Check Tires (rotations should be done every 6,000 miles)
  • Brakes
  • Check the Belts, Hoses, Fluid Levels, Lights and wipers
  • Load Test the Battery
  • Check Antifreeze
  • Check Suspension and Alignment

Q. Does Performance have a Towing Service?
A. We can arrange to have your vehicle towed here by a reliable Towing Service and add the charges to your invoice. Just call us! If you need a tow after hours, call Merten's Towing 763-5155 and they will pick up your vehicle and drop it off here.

Q. Are your Technicians Certified?
A. All of our Technicians are certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellance. Two are ASE Master Technicians and L1 certified. Our Techs have over 75 years combined experience in all areas of Automotive Repair. Our Tire Sales Professionals are also certified.

Q. What is a Cabin Air Filter?
A. It filters air coming inside the vehicle. Most new cars have them and they should be inspected every 20,000 miles.

Q. Can you Service my New Car?
A. We can Service All new and used Vehicles. Your vehicle manufacturer has a list of scheduled Maintenance that is recommended to keep your vehicle safe and reliable. Please stop in or call, our Service Department would be happy to provide a list of recommendations for your vehicle.
